WORD FOR THE DAY - Complacent - contented


Attention Student Senators: There will be a Student Senate meeting on Thursday, April 21st during reading period. Don’t forget to turn in nominations for April Enderle teacher of the month.

Listen up Knights: This week is International Week at Foothill. Everybody come out to the stage to learn different types of dance and to get candy for answering trivia questions. Show your pride for your favorite country.

The student recycling center is sponsoring a T-Shirt contest to celebrate Earth Week. All you need to do is make a colored 8 ½ x 11 picture with a slogan and a logo that relates to recycling. To submit your artwork, put in Mr. Pfaff’s mailbox. First Place $200, Second Place $150 & Third Place $100.

The Foothill Marching Band is starting is starting a new Flag & Dance Team that will perform at Football half times and parades on Saturdays. Anyone interested should contact Mr. Waibel in room 407 and/or come to an informal informational meeting Thursday April 21st in room 407 at 3:00 pm.

Want to learn to play bagpipes? Already know how and want a group to perform with? See Mr. Waibel in room 407 to get information concerning this ancient instrument.

The Chess Tournament for International Week will be held in the gym. It will be based on points because of time. The Nation who wins will receive a $20.00 Chili’s gift card or Comp USA gift card by request. The first twenty students to arrive will play.

This week is Earth Week. And once again its time to bring bottles cans and USED batteries to your third period class to earn spirit points. Your class will be responsible for counting your cans and bottles so keep tally of how many you have every day. The Student Recycling Center will come by your class every day to pick up your bottles and cans. ASB will come by on Friday to pick up all old batteries, so support our earth and environment by recycling!

Come join the chess tournament for International Week! It’s a luncheon on the gym stage, first come, first served, so rush over there! Participants and winners will receive spirit points for their 3rd period class.


Air Guitar is quickly approaching and packets are available outside the ASB Room. Tryouts are April 19th and April 20th. Be there, Rock Out and have fun!

There is a Red Cross meeting tomorrow at lunch in Mr. Simcox’s room 220. See you there!

Students: If you are interested in teaching swimming lessons this summer, pick up an application from Mrs. Kettering in the front office. The lessons will be held at Tustin or Beckman High School. There will be no lessons at Foothill this season.

Attention all students who signed up for the Video Class for the fall of 2005: There will be a meeting at lunch in Mr. Beverley’s room 402, tomorrow.

Are you 16? Mrs Cuzens needs your help. If you are interested in taking a Video Game Design class next year, please sign up in the Art Gallery at the round table.

Check outside the ASB room for election updates and contact Kaitlyn Johnson with questions. The forms and videos are due April 22nd.

Girls, grab your dads for “My Night in Paradise.” Come join us for the Father/Daughter Dance on April 29 at 6:30 to 9:30 pm in the gym. Please see cheerleaders for details and tickets. Prices are $20 per person.

Spring vision and hearing testing will be tomorrow,, period 1 through 4 in the library. Call slips will be sent out.

The Tustin Area Rotary scholarship deadline has been extended to April 21st. Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

2005 Yearbook Staff: If you would like to be part of Foothill’s award winning Yearbook Staff next year, see Mr. Boyes’ in room 408 this week.

2005 Yearbooks. There are 155 Yearbooks left. There are over 2200 students at Foothill, so don’t be disappointed in June when all the yearbooks are sold. See Mrs. Ting in the Student Store as soon as possible to buy your 2005 Yearbook. Yearbook/VHS are $87.00 and yearbook/DVD will be $102.00. After April, the price is even more.

Attention all CSF members: You must attend the service project that you signed up for to get credit. The projects for the rest of the semester are at their limit so there is no room to switch.

Attention Seniors: Please stop by the Counseling Office and fill out your star letting us know where you will be attending college next year. We also want to know about any scholarships you have received. Help us brag about you-something we enjoy doing immensely.
